Teatro Visión is a Chicanx theater company with 40 years of service to the community. Our work amplifies the voices of Latinxs, creates a dignified and empowering sense of identity, inspires action, builds respect and understanding, and explores the social and psychological experiences of Latinxs.
We are currently hiring for a Box Office Manager for our upcoming production of When She Had Wings, April 9-12 at the Mexican Heritage Plaza.
BOX OFFICE MANAGER
The Box Office Manager plays a key role in ensuring positive patron experiences and promoting accessibility of Teatro Visión performances. Reporting to the Managing Director, the Box Office Manager processes all in-person ticket orders prior to performances and support patrons with ticketing-related questions. Most importantly, they communicate the Choose-Your-Own-Price ticket policy to encourage patrons to support Teatro Visión’s programs while ensuring accessibility.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Arriving at the theater 1½ hours prior to curtain time for all performances.
- Setting up box office, including signage, ticket stock, and cash box.
- Interacting with customers bilingually, taking orders, and providing a positive experience.
- Operating cash registers, processing payments, applying discounts, and completing transactions.
- Promoting Teatro Visión’s innovative Choose-Your-Own-Price ticketing model to ensure financial accessibility of performances.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bilingual, English and Spanish, required.
- Experience with patron relations at in-person events, especially theater events.
- Passion for ensuring financially and linguistically accessible arts experiences.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
COMPENSATION: $20 per hour. No benefits.
SCHEDULE:
- April 9 from 4:30-7:30pm
- April 10, 11 from 5:30-7:30pm
- April 11, 12 from 12:30-2:30pm
