In the middle of summer in San José, Beatrix, aka “B,” is about to turn 10 and she is not happy about that! Deep down, she knows that before she could walk, she could fly, no matter what gravity (or her gnome-loving dad) says. During a summer thunderstorm, a mysterious and feathered stranger named “A” crashes into B’s treehouse. Is she a bird? Is she Amelia Earhart? Maybe she’s just an old woman who escaped the care home down the street? Whoever she is, B and A work together to learn how to soar again.
When She Had Wings is a heartwarming tale about persistence and believing in your own ability, despite all odds, to make anything possible. Join A and B’s journey where the sky is no longer the limit - it’s the goal.

Enjoy a fun and family friendly matinee with activities for the entire family! Childcare is available at this performance only, and is recommended for children under 7 years old. Children must be able to use the restroom independently.
ASL-INTERPRETED PERFORMANCE | Sunday, April 12 at 2:00pm
This performance will be interpreted in American Sign Language. Our bilingual open captions and talented trilingual interpreters ensure a powerful, seamlessly accessible theatergoing experience for our Deaf and Hard of Hearing audience members.
ACCESSIBILITY
When She Had Wings is performed in English with open captions in both English and Spanish.
ASL interpretation will be provided at the Sun., April 12 performance of When She Had Wings.
ADA seating is available at the theater, in the main level of the audience chamber and on the balcony. There are elevators to the balcony on the right side of the theater lobby. There are no steps leading into the theater from the Plaza, which is accessible via ramps from the parking lots on both King Rd. and Alum Rock Ave.

Durante una tormenta, un misterioso y emplumado desconocido llamado “A” choca contra la casa del árbol de B. ¿Es un pájaro? ¿Es Amelia Earhart? ¿Es una abuelita que escapó de la casa de cuidado? Sea quien sea, B y A trabajan juntos para aprender a volar otra vez.
When She Had Wings es una historia conmovedora sobre la persistencia y creer en tu propia habilidad, a pesar de todas las probabilidades, para hacer cualquier cosa posible. Únete al viaje de A y B donde el cielo ya no es el límite, es el objetivo.
