Prior to the matinee performance of Teatro Visión's MACARIO, join us to learn about grassroots movements to provide healthy food options in low-income and immigrant communities and have access to representatives of local nonprofit organizations that seek to improve access to healthy foods.
There will be a special presentation from Sergio Nesaulakoyotl Martinez and Angelica Tletlyolotl Delgado of La Defensa del Maíz San José, a grassroots organization seeking to mobilize the community in defense of non-GMO, organic, native, criollo maíz while supporting a bio-diverse seed population and creating access to safe, fair-trade, traditional corn products.
