We're excited to announce that Teatro Visión has been selected from a competitive pool to participate in the first NextGen Cohort through a grant from Silicon Valley Creates in partnership with the San Jose Office of Cultural Affairs (OCA) and the Knight Foundation. The goal of the NextGen Cohort is "to inspire new ideas and strategies, to help fund the execution of those ideas, and to provide training and support to share and nurture those strategies."

Over the course of this project, Teatro Visión will engage with a cohort including San José Jazz, City Lights Theater, the Bay Area Glass Institute, and the Peninsula Symphony to receive resources, training, and convening opportunities in support of connecting with next generation audiences and deepening connections with our current patrons.

The cornerstone of our proposal is the use of new web-based technology to streamline and integrate our website, email newsletter, donor development, event ticketing, and database management. We'll also be exploring the use of additional mobile tablets at future performances to sell tickets and merchandise, collect contact information and donations, and interact with our audiences in real time, particularly with students, who are critical to the fulfillment of our mission.
