Our classes identify and train new "teatristas" — skilled artists who are committed to culture-based, bilingual theater. This innovative training program inspires students of all ages to find their voice, building the self-confidence and initiative to take on leadership roles in their community. There are also opportunities for students to audition for roles in Teatro Visión stage productions.
Intensive Teatro Classes
January 24 - February 3, 2024
Teatro Visión is teaching an Intensive Teatro Class for youth ages 9-18 who have some theater experience, either in previous Teatro Visión classes and productions or elsewhere.
In this class, children will develop acting skills through explorations of their own experiences, perspectives, and hopes. Class sessions will be bilingual, English and Spanish.
This class will also prepare students to audition for our spring youth production of La Mariposa and Breaking Through, by Leo Cortez and based on the books by Francisco Jiménez.

Meet the Instructor
Ricardo Cortés (he, him, él) returns after teaching Intro to Teatro in July 2023! Ricardo is originally from México City, and now is located in San José. He studied at the National Theater School in Mexico City (ENAT), and he has been invited to perform at international theater festivals in Latin America and Spain. He worked as an actor in theater, musical theater, TV, telenovelas and film in Mexico city. In the USA, he has performed with Teatro Visión, City Lights Theater Company, and more.
Clase Intensiva de Teatro

Teatro Vision está ofreciendo una clase intensiva de Teatro para jóvenes de 9-18 años que tengan algo de experiencia en teatro, ya sea en clases anteriores de Teatro Visión o en alguna producción en otro lugar.
La clase les ayudará a los participantes con el desarrollo de técnicas de actuación a través de sus propias experiencias, perspectivas y esperanzas. Las clases serán bilingües, en inglés y español.
Esta clase también les preparará a los estudiantes para audicionar para nuestra producción juvenil de La Mariposa y Breaking Through, escritas por Leo Cortez y basadas en los libros por Francisco Jiménez.

Conozca al maestro
Ricardo Cortés (él) ha regresado después de enseñar nuestra clase de Introducción al Teatro el julio pasado. Ricardo es originario de la Ciudad de México y actualmente vive en San José, CA. Él estudió en la Escuela Nacional de Arte Teatral (ENAT) en la Ciudad de México y ha sido invitado a actuar en festivales internacionales de teatro en Latinoamérica y España. Él ha trabajado como actor en teatro, teatro musical, televisión, telenovelas y cine. En los EEUU, él ha actuado en las compañías de Teatro Visión, City Lights Theater Company y otras.
