Teatro seeks to fill management position

Friends of Teatro,

It has been an honor and a privilege to serve Teatro Visión as interim Managing Director for the past two and a half years. Together with our amazing staff, artists, and board of directors, we've established MACARIO as a Día de los Muertos tradition for San José, engaged with thousands of local youth through our teatro classes and student matinee performances, and significantly improved our financial situation in the wake of a near collapse.

As many of you are aware, I will be running for a seat on the San José City Council in 2016. In order to ensure continuity of dedicated leadership and success for Teatro, I will be stepping down from my position as of January 1st, and the Board of Directors has issued the following Request for Qualifications to fill a new management position. I will be staying on in an advisory capacity as the incoming manager gets up to speed.

I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every member of the Teatro Família for everything you've done and continue to do to support our unique and vital work. I look forward to seeing you all very soon in the community — or at the theater!

Saludos,
Peter Allen
Managing Director

We provide free or low-cost performances via partnerships with more than 100 local schools and organizations. An open pricing structure and bilingual presentations ensure that our work remains accessible to a broad spectrum of our community. Our education programming encourages youths to strengthen their critical thinking, self-confidence, communication, and problem-solving skills.
