The Season of Giving

MACARIO 2015 JacalAs we gather this week to give thanks for our many blessings, we are also approaching the end of the year, when we call upon you to renew your support of our work. Like most nonprofit arts groups, ticket sales account for less than a third of our program expenses. Donations from friends like you enable us to deliver high-quality theater and arts education to thousands of community members each year.

Teatro Visión is a unique voice in our community. Our plays touch the fabric of Latino and Chicano culture, while also creating a sense of pride and awareness within the larger community. With that in mind, we’re proud to see MACARIO develop into a Día de los Muertos tradition for San José and the Silicon Valley. The production’s success year after year proves that its themes of social justice and human dignity resonate within our community today.

This year’s production of MACARIO featured a variety of improvements, including enhanced stage and lighting designs and additional opportunities for children from our teatro classes to gain performance experience. Through outreach to local schools and ticket sponsorships from San José’s Mayor and City Councilmembers, more than 650 students were exposed to teatro for the first time!

We look forward to continuing our teatro classes this winter, but you can help us take our youth programming to the next level with a tax-deductible gift. Please send a check to "Teatro Visión" at P.O. Box 28367, San José, CA 95159, or visit our website to donate with a credit card. Be assured that a gift of any amount will be appreciated.

We'll also be participating in #GivingTuesday on Dec. 1st, a national day of support for charitable causes. To make it easy, we've set up this donation page through Hispanics in Philanthropy (HIPGive). Please consider visiting our page on Tuesday to make your donation and help us qualify for special prizes and matching gifts.

Thank you for partnering with us to keep teatro alive in our community!

Warmest regards,
